Designed on an intimate scale, The Leighton rises to just three levels. Across its exterior, warm, natural elements of timber and stone create a relaxed beach house feel. On first sight, the focal point is the elegant manta ray shaped roof, which floats above a series of robust blade walls. In conjunction with The Leighton's extra deep balconies, the roof provides ample shading to the building's large windows. This helps naturally cool The Leighton, significantly reducing its energy use and impact on the environment.
Constructed from recycled Tallowwood, The Leighton's exterior walls have the effect of protecting and defining the individual apartments, so that each feels like a private house or terrace. The warm Tallowwood flows through to the apartment interiors, providing a textured feature to the living areas. ^ TOP

Multiplex Living has worked in conjunction with Alex Popov & Associates to bring world class design standards to The Leighton.
Alex Popov graduated in Denmark from the Royal Academy in 1971 in architecture and worked for Henning Larsen and Jorn Utzon before returning to Australia in 1983 and establishing Alex Popov Architects Pty Ltd in Sydney.
The practice is now a well established and highly regarded architectural firm that provides residential and planning services both in Australia and overseas.
Alex Popov Architects has been successful in a number of design competitions and the practice has received numerous major awards from the Royal Institute of Australian Architects including several Wilkinson Awards, the Robin Boyd Award and the Architecture Australia Prize.
Now known as Alex Popov & Associates, the practice completes projects on every scale from residential and interiors, to urban redevelopment and medium density and is currently engaged in the production of medium scale apartment dwellings.
